Objectives:

• Strengthen the friendly relations of the members of the “Red de Misión” of the ACJ-YMCA.
• Share experiences, exchange ideas and encourage partnerships related to the Christian mission of the YMCA.
• We will get competent knowledge and clarity on the Christian foundations of the YMCA with the purpose of facilitating the work of the Mission.
• We will review the advances of the ”Red de Misíon” and build up strategies and tasks which help to fulfill the objectives of the network.

• For active members of YMCAs (staff and volunteer)
• Please remit the amount for the inscription on following bank account: No. 1650-216550-3 Bancolombia, Asociación Cristiana de Jóvenes or you can pay cash in the YMCA – Bogotá, Cra 16 A No 28 - 33

• Preinscription with a first installment of $ 50.000 Colombian Pesos before the 2 of December 2007.
  Costs: $ 190.000 Colombian Pesos or 200 American Dollar.

IMPORTANT:
The costs covering accommodation, full board, materials, transportation, city tour during the conference beginning Saturday 29th 3:30pm and ending Tuesday 1 9:30 pm. Participants are responsible for air fares and accommodation, transportation before and after the conference.
There are limited places for the conference and they will be given in order of the inscription.

About event

• The meeting point for the beginning is the central office of the ACJ-YMCA Bogotá: Cra 16 A No 28-33
• The event takes place in the YMCA Camp “Campamento Bochica” which is located one hour and half from Bogotá.
  Bochica offers conference rooms, houses in colonial style, meeting room, and a beautiful zone of flowers and vegetation.
  During the trip to Bochica you will be able to enjoy the landscape of the savanna of Bogotá and the “Salto del Tequendama”, which is an attractive tourist region.
• In Bopchica Camp we have phone and internet service, but coast isn´t included
• The event will finish with a city tour through the cultural and tourist parts of Bogotá and a dinner in the YMCA Bogotá (dinner included in the costs of the conference).
• You will get a CD with the contents of the conference.

About Bogotá

• Bogotá is located 2.640 meters above mid see level. The temperature varies from 9 to 22ºC (46ºF – 68ºF). Dry and rainy seasons alternate long the year. The driest months are February and March.
• Local Time GMT – 05:00 hours
• The official currency of Colombia is the Colombian Pesos ($). The money exchange is possible in banks and hotels.
• Cultural and natural places of interest are outstanding in Bogotá. Important architectural work and space dedicated to art, recreation, sports and knowledge signal out Bogotá as a tourist destination to visit and enjoy.

Preparation for the YMCA Conference

• For Sunday 11 am please arrange a presentation of your YMCA/ movement of about 5-10 min, including the mission experience and programs. You can also provide information material about mission (flyer, recommended books etc.).
• Please provide a typical cultural activity from your country of about 5-10 min. This will be presented on Saturday 7 pm. Please bring a flag of your country with you.
• Please send your presentation of your YMCA to following address: acj@ymcabta.com. We will check, if they work correctly on the local equipment.
• Recommendation and important hints:
  If you like to bring electronic equipment (razor) with you, please remember using adaptors for the type Colombia: 110-120 Volts 60 Hz.
  Due to the fact, that the weather in Bogotá changes very fast, please bring suitable clothes with you
  For international flights you have to be 3 hours before take-off on the airport. From the YMCA to the airport you need approximately 45 - 60. Please consider this information for your travel planning.
