| The
programs are means by which groups and individuals are involved, but
if the program does not achieve the reflection an the inner growth,
it doesn't solve the most important aspect of the human BEING. Therefore,
the YMCA has built a methodological proposal in order to have holistic
development, which is made up in a transverse axis of the educative
process implemented in every program. 9
1.
Integral development concept
The
conceptual fundamentals and instruments that facilitate the evaluation
of the methodology are shown below.
INTEGRAL DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT.
The
HUMAN BEING continues a grow personal process thouglost life it
is made up of in levels that no other being in our world manifests
and requires.
The
Bogotá YMCA has taken into account the following essential
dimensions in order to realize the entire development process: Spiritual
Growth, Personal Growth, Social Development and Leadership, Intellectual
Development, Physical and leisure Development and Ecological Dimension.

This
process can be assisted and accompanied from outside. In this way
it is important to give a clear priority to the BEING, to produce,
to share in contrast to or (not love) to HAVE, to consume, to own.
On
the other hand, by dealing with social human beings, the self-formation
process is not possible in an individual in an isolated way, but
as a joint process and mutual interaction with everybody who at
a certain level integrate the community and environment.
Teh
growth dimensious as follows:
Spiritual
Growth: This work is conceived, like a possibility to
reflect and make people aware about the inner self power that each
human being has, and which allows him to use his free will in a
responsible way.
The
themes developed in this Spiritual dimension are shaping up to rescue
and strengthen the ability to discern and value the essence of a
human being. A being who was created to God's image and therefore
has got unlimited inner resources that each person must discover
for giving purpose to his life. To fulfill himself and for contributing
and helping to God's plan. Valuing and respecting the people and
all the creation with an ecumenical vision.
Psychologycal
Development: The work developed in this area wants to
emphasize in the individual behavior, therefore involves every aspect
related with the psyche, the conception of himself and the conception
about the relationship with others.
Most
of the feelings, emotions and behaviors expressed in the relationships
with other people, have a strong connection with the relationship
that the individual has with himself and it is expressed in his
self-concept.
From
what stated above, it may be deduced that the importance of such
aspects as: the assertive communication, the sensitizing development,
the affection and the identity consolidation of each individual,
who admits that he is the only one, unrepeatable, and builds a sound
vision of himself and participates actively in the creation of his
world.
Social
Development: Considering that the HUMAN BEINGs are developed
in specific contexts, characteristics determine that his collective
being, it is necessary to deal with the specific aspects related
to his immediate context. It is imparative to adequatly prepare of
the participants through the formative years in order to have a
good social interaction.
Through
the development of solidarity , democracy, team building, justice,
right and principles of the
PREVENTION OF HOME ABANDONMENT PROGRAM
but mainly the achievement of concrete actions for the improvement
of his environment.
Intellectual
Development: being aware of the cognitive process the
ability to comprehend and build the reality, it is seen not only
as the exchange of information and knowledge about himself and his
surroundings, but even more determining and important, producing
that knowledge and increasing the levels of awareness.
The
HUMAN BEING learns at the same time that he participates in discovery
and exploration. The knowledge is meaningful when he shows the capacity
to think by himself and discover his own answers about the important
events of life.
For
these previous reasons, the suggested exercises in this handbook
are focused to develop the ability to discern, produce, deal, confront,
and explain abilities and looking for solutions in order to solve
the challenges perceived as problems.
Ecological
Dimension:
The vital places where people stay, have a fundamental importance
for their development. For this reason the emphasis of the work
is focused in sensitizing people about the importance of protecting
and keeping in good conditions their immediate environment.
Physical
and leisure Development:
a good health is generally a result of good hygiene, nutrition,
exercise, among others. The process in this dimension aims to offer
participants the opportunity to improve their health condition and
well being to guarantee a sound and productive life.
The
contents included in each one of the guidebooks, have been prepared
for dealing with the different dimensions the question are meant
to be vital, evocative, and full of possibilities cohen applied.
The
objective is not obtaining content, information, knowledge (HAVE),
but producing activities, self-formation, self knowledge (BEING).
More than "teaching" in order to know the answers to certain
problems, it is meant to provide an education that can help them
to solve their problems with a great possibility of growth in a
creative, intelligent critical and human way.
By doing this, the individual SELF-AWARENESS merges as a main character,
who can face problems, transcending from the kingdom of need to
the kingdom, of freedom changing with an operative and logical capacity
(do and know to do). understand, learn, organize know priorities
over all being critical and a transformer.

- Physical,

In
each area, a process is developed merging from the inside of each
person and his environment, taking them to optimum levels of development
in each of the dimensions that form his being.
The
instruments that measure the impact of these processes within the
individual are shown below. Each instrument has got a series of
indicators that must be measured at the beginning and ending to
see the advancement of each of the persons involved in the integral
formation processes.
